Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Nestilora articles are researched, written, illustrated, checked and corrected.

Our standards

  • Useful first. Each section of an article should help a reader act: what to do, why it helps, what to check first, and the trade-offs.
  • No invented experience. We do not claim to have tested products, lived in a room, or completed a project. We do not invent experts, quotes, testimonials or case studies.
  • Sourced facts. Specific facts such as figures, safety guidance, standards or prices appear only when supported by a cited source. We prefer official and primary sources (for example government safety agencies and manufacturers’ instructions) and established publications, and we avoid relying on low-reliability commercial pages for factual claims.
  • Opinion is labeled. Style and color ideas are presented as inspiration, not universal rules.
  • Safety. Where advice touches safety (tall furniture, electrical items, mirrors, windows, damp and mold), we point readers to manufacturers’ instructions and official guidance.
  • Renters. We flag changes that may need landlord permission and offer alternatives.

How an article is produced

  • Topic selection based on reader needs and, once available, search data. We avoid near-duplicate topics.
  • Research of current, credible sources.
  • Writing and editing.
  • Illustration: concept illustrations and floor-plan diagrams planned for specific sections, so each picture explains an idea from the text.
  • Checks before publication: source verification, accuracy, repetition, usefulness, image relevance, readability and SEO. Articles that fail stay unpublished until they are fixed.

Updates and corrections

We review published articles periodically and update them when information changes or a source becomes unavailable. If you spot an error, email contact@nestilorahome.com. Significant corrections are noted in the article.
